Happy Halloween! Crafts by Corey Colwell-Lipson and Lynn Colwell of GreenHalloween.org. Treats by Christina Stanley-Salerno. Costumes by Ellen Goldberg. Photos by Tara Donne.

What do you get when you combine a beekeeper, a pig, a mad scientist, and a bird? One great Halloween party!Set the table for fun with environmentally friendly decorations and healthy treats. Once your guests arrive, let them grab a ghost-shaped rice cereal treat pop (made with vegan marshmallows and organic chocolate eyes, stuck on bamboo skewers) and get them started making ornaments for a Halloween tree centerpiece. All you have to do is stick a branch in a vase filled with sand, and kids will get creative if you set out art supplies and recycled materials (we made ghosts out of plastic bags and black cat ornaments out of scrap paper and beads from broken earrings). Natural beeswax candles are a great craft to make with your child before the party, too, though depending on your crowd, you may not want to actually light them.
