Alexandra Harner
How many 6-year-olds do you know who’ve been to cooking school? After being inspired by a teacher who baked with the class every week, Alex took Saturday cooking classes and got the expertise to create her gooey s’mores cookies. “My mom and I wanted to make cookies, but we didn’t have eggs. We had our neighbor’s sugar cookie recipe that didn’t use eggs, but wanted to do something different,” the Baltimore firrst-grader explains. “So I added chocolate, marshmallows, and graham crackers to make s’mores cookies!”
Favorite food: Pasta with red sauce or pasta with butter.
Biggest cooking disaster: “The first time I made the s’mores cookies, the marshmallows got really melty and sticky!” says Alex.
Best cook she knows: Alex. Best cook she knows: “My mom—and Giada [De Laurentiis] from the Food Network.”
Judge Reed Alexander says…
“I loved how Alex customized and improvised to make the most of what she had to create a unique treat from two already awesome indulgences—cookies and s’mores!”
