Celebrate America’s birthday the eco way by planning a parade with your family and friends. (Marching around the block–or the backyard!–is much lower impact than shooting off fireworks.) Paint everyone’s faces with natural, nontoxic face paint from Luna Organics or Terra Firma Cosmetics and have kids make noisemakers by filling water bottles with dried beans and decorating them with red, white, and blue paper from the recycling bin.
