earth dayGive back to the Earth, together by trying one of the following Earth Day ideas.

Host a clean-up day. Recruit a few other families and head to local parks, recreation areas, and town centers and pick up litter. Set a goal of how many pieces you want to collect to make it into a fun challenge for the kids. Don’t forget to wear gloves and recycle what you find!

Find a local event. Head to volunteermatch.org to find volunteer opportunities in your area. Click the Environment icon under the Volunteers tab to search for local earth-related activities. (Volunteer.gov is another good site to check.)

Take action. Visit earthday.org to read about different pledges your family can sign to make our earth a better place. Choose one—or a few—to support as a family.

What is your family doing for Earth Day? Tell us in the comments.
