KIWI’s Road Trip Tips
Summer is almost upon us, so is prime vacation time. Many families will hop into their cars and cruise the highways and byways. Road trips are an excellent way to spend quality time together, as well see the sights of America. Use KIWI’s road tripping tips to keep your sanity and maintain the love.
  • Clean out the car. Road trips are hard enough without having to deal with the existing mess in the car. Also make sure the car is up to the trip—have it checked out. (Oil change, spare tire, fluids, etc.)
  • Plan stops. Visit sites along the trip. The biggest ball of rubber bands is there for a reason!
  • Provide entertaintainment. Bring travel size board games, coloring books, etc. Avoiding boredom avoids tantrums and complaining.
  • Plan breaks. Take a bathroom, food or fuel stop every 2 hours. It should keep kids (and parents) happy.
  • Know where you are going. Maps and directions are our friends. Getting lost adds extra time in the car (!).
  • Utilize guidebooks. They’re excellent resources for places to visit and eat, especially when you’re on a budget.
  • Pack lots of snacks. Well-fed kids are happy kids. Bring fruit and natural/organic snacks like FruitaBü fruit twirls or Back to Nature Mini Classic Crème cookies.

Dr. Susan to the Rescue!
Kids today are more overweight than ever! This statistic is everywhere in the media. While we know that children are dangerously overweight, what is lacking is a resource on what to do to motivate your child into being healthy. Look no further—Dr. Susan’s Kids-Only Weight Loss Guide: A Parent’s Action Plan for Success offers practical tips and ideas for parents dealing with the delicate subject of overweight children. The guide focuses on giving parents advice on how to encourage their children into eating healthy and becoming more active, without the fights and hurt feelings. Dr. Susan reveals ways to bring exercise into a busy life and ways to undermine strong media influences. Also Dr. Susan’s guide was developed with the help of a Parents’ Advisory Group, so it is really a “parent’s action plan.” To purchase Dr. Susan’s helpful handbook, visit www.amazon.com or your local bookstore.
