Whole Foods Market and Healthy Child Healthy World Partner with Kiwi Magazine and American Airlines to Bring Healthy Fun To The Holiday Skies

Los Angeles, CA (Dec.17, 2007)—Whole Foods Market and Healthy Child Healthy World, the nation’s leading nonprofit dedicated to protecting children’s environmental health, are partnering with KIWI Magazine and American Airlines now through Jan. 1, 2008, to offer the Kiwi Care Package to parents traveling with children on select American Airlines flights. The innovative in-flight promotion provides education for parents, fun activities for children, and healthy product samples for both to enjoy.

On select transcontinental and Hawaii-bound flights from six major airports, flight attendants are offering the Kiwi Care Package to parents traveling with children; the package also is available in eight Admirals Club® lounges. Each of the 100,000 packets being distributed contains an issue of KIWI Magazine, a KiwiKids Fun Page with activities and games designed to encourage environmental awareness, a copy of Whole Foods Market Holiday Entertaining Tips and healthy product samples. In conjunction with Healthy Child Healthy World, this partnership represents business and non-profits aligning to educate both parents and children alike about environmental issues.

“We are so excited about this incredible partnership,” says Christopher Gavigan, CEO and Executive Director of Healthy Child Healthy World. “A flight is the perfect opportunity for parents to take the time learn about the first easy steps that can impact their family’s health in a meaningful way for years to come. And they’ll love the games and snacks that can keep their kids occupied as they, too, learn about healthy living.”

Laurie Rocke, of Whole Foods Market agrees, “it’s a fun way to learn about food and entertaining while you’re looking for something to do with the kids.”

During the 2007 Holiday season, Kiwi Care Packages are being distributed on select American transcontinental and Hawaii flights departing from New York (JFK), Los Angeles, Miami, Chicago, Dallas/Fort. Worth and San Francisco, as well as in Admirals Club lounges in New York (JFK and LGA), Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth, Miami and Denver.

“The Kiwi Care Packages are a great added value service for traveling parents and children on some of our longest domestic flights,” said Lauri Curtis, Vice President - Onboard Service at American Airlines.  “We’re so pleased to work with Kiwi on this project.”
