  1. Start out with a square piece of paper. (You can purchase origami paper or cut your own.)
  2. Create creases within the page based on the diagram below. You’ll need to fold your square in half both horizontally and vertically, as well as diagonally in both directions.
  3. Lay your paper flat and open on your surface. Start pushing your horizontal crease lines toward each other, as if they were going to stand upright. At the same time, re-crease your diagonal creases to create an “x” shape.
  4. Turn your “x” so that two of your points touch the table. Then, push the paper down to create the flat triangle shape.
  5. Fold the bottom corners of each triangle up towards the top point to create a diamond shape.
  6. Repeat on other side.
  7. Fold the left and right corners of your diamond in towards the center on each side.
  8. Note that there should be an opening on one of your folded corners. Take the loose end of the paper that is under those corners, and fold it into the opening.
  9. Repeat for all openings.
  10. At the top of your paper there should be a hole; blow air into this.
  11. Your origami balloon should expand. This craft is perfect for a DIY holiday wreath!
