Ingredients

6 Tablespoon firmly packed light brown sugar
6 Tablespoon unsalted butter
1 teaspoon Organic cassia Cinnamon, ground
1 teaspoon Organic Green Cardamom, ground
1 teaspoon Organic Ginger, ground
1 teaspoon Organic Orange Zest
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup sweetened flaked coconut
1 cup sliced almonds
2 cups old fashioned rolled oats
½ cup wheat germ

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. In a small saucepan combine the brown sugar, butter, spices, zest, and salt. Cook over moderately low heat, stirring, until the brown sugar is dissolved.
  3. In a bowl, stir together the coconut, almonds, oats, and wheat germ. Add the brown sugar mixture and toss until everything is well combined.
  4. Spread the granola in a baking pan and place in the middle of the oven. Bake, stirring every 5 minutes, for 10 to 15 minutes, or until it is golden. Let cool before serving.
