Your little one’s car seat gets a lot of mileage. But all that road time may also mean a buildup of dirt, grime, and germs. Jennifer Beall, founder and CEO of CleanBeeBaby, explains how to get it squeaky clean:
1. Set a reminder on your phone to give it a good scrub every three months, or sooner if it starts to smell.
2. If your seat cover has cleaning instructions, follow those, otherwise you can remove the seat’s cover and toss it straight into the washing machine on a gentle cycle. Be sure to hang dry to avoid shrinking.
3. Vacuum or wipe down all of the nooks and crannies of the frame to remove any hidden dirt or grime.
4. Finally, take extra care when reassembling the seat. Check that the straps aren’t twisted and everything is secure.
