The Art of Miss Chew

KIWI Magazine Review:

Patricia Polacco has written and illustrated more than 50 books for children, but this latest title is most unique. She has written and illustrated a picture book autobiography of the first days of her love of art. Ms. Polacco struggled with reading and received poor marks on tests because she was much slower than her peers when it came to reading. A kind teacher referred her to an art class, and this teacher not only recognized her talent, but also recognized that she needed a reading specialist. This is quite a touching story, and one which many teacher and students will appreciate.
