If you’re looking for a more eco-friendly approach to your child’s sidewalk art creations, you might consider making your own. However, many homemade variations call for carcinogenic Plaster of Paris. Instead, try chalk-style paint.
We love this recipe from Kyra Sosna, the mom behind parenting blog RACKS and Mooby.
Materials
- cornstarch
- water
- natural food coloring
- small containers, like old baby food jars
- paintbrushes
Instructions
- Combine equal parts cornstarch and water, along with a few drops of natural food coloring. Mix together in your containers, until the cornstarch is blended to a watery consistency.
- Grab a paintbrush, and watch your young Picasso create her next masterpiece!
