Purees That Pack a Punch

We asked Anne London, R.D., a blogger at petitenutrition.com, to share tasty purees that deliver nutrients your child needs for healthy growth and development.

Full of Potassium:
BANANA & AVOCADO
Chop one large banana and one pitted avocado. Place in a food processor with 1⁄2 cup plain whole-fat Greek yogurt and puree (for babies 9 months and older).

High in Vitamins A & K:
KALE & MANGO
Shred six Tuscan kale leaves, removing the stems completely, then peel and slice one mango. Place in a food processor and puree until smooth.

Rich in Manganese:
SWEET POTATO & BEET
Toss 2/3 cup sweet potato and 3⁄4 cup beets with olive oil and roast for about 30 minutes. Let cool and remove skins. Puree with 3⁄4 cup applesauce until smooth.
