Easy Mulled Apple Cider

Ingredients


Makes 8 servings

8 cups apple cider

12 whole cloves

1 1-inch piece fresh ginger, peeled

Half of a small orange, thinly sliced

2 cinnamon sticks

Your whole house will smell like the holidays when you simmer warming winter spices in sweet apple cider. Have your child count the spices and orange slices after you remove them from the cider to make sure you got them all!

Directions

In a large saucepan, add the apple cider, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, and orange slices.  Cover, bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Use a slotted spoon to remove the cinnamon sticks, cloves, ginger, and orange slices. Pour the cider into mugs and serve hot.
