¾ cup milk (or milk alternative)

1 teaspoon 100% pure maple syrup (honey works as an alternative)

1 shot of espresso

Leake’s recipe combines espresso (for an energy boost) with natural ingredients like unsweetened cocoa and pure maple syrup to lend flavor without added sugar and sweeteners. 1. Heat milk in a glass measuring cup in the microwave for about two minutes, or use a milk frother.

2. While the milk heats, stir together the cocoa and maple syrup until the mixture looks wet.

3. Pour the hot espresso and milk into the chocolate mixture and enjoy!
